Technical Post: Green Screen
The Green Screen:
The green screen, or 'Chroma Key', is single coloured back drop which can be used to add a full background or fragments of a setting in a media product via post-production.
The scene is recorded as normal but elements are later superimposed using photoshop software through chromakeying, which is identifying one colour in the background (this will usually be green) and making this colour transparent.
..Because of the absolute removal of one particular colour it is important for all subjects in the scene to steer clear of this colour; otherwise unwanted fragments will be removed and situations of this sort can arise...
If the chroma key is used to add a realistic background to create a sense of realism in the scene, it is particularly important to match the lighting correctly; if the background is exterior lighting of the subject should either be natural or artificial but made o look natural etc.

Initial decisions with audience feedback:
We're deciding on using locations such as a skateboard park, as we feel that will best suit the lyrics as they are talking about a move from an old relationship. Also, we decided on a shot to be set in a bar, as it will give more insight into the song, as usually after a break-up, people are seen sitting in a bar. There will also be shots of time lapse in London, which will also emphasize on the time, maybe describing how slow it's going and the world around doesn't stop moving. Finally, there may be shots of a person being kicked by his partner, and his clothes being thrown out onto the streets, which can relate to the lyrics as we can portray it as flashbacks in black and white, which will put emphasis on the pain he went through, and is still going through.
