Research: Oasis (What's The Story Morning Glory) - Digi-Pack Analysis

Oasis- (What's the story) morning glory?

FRONT COVER:
The band's logo is black and white; the contrasting colours make it stand out whilst simultaneously keeping it neat and subtle. The logo appears this way i.e black and white and in the corner of the album rather than in the middle (which can be common for many artists) in most of Oasis' albums- a brand identity element.
The white  caps lock letters are in a simple font which once again echoes elements of other albums.
The vintage vibe of the photo especially with the subtle fade effect used, enforce the band's ties to their genre; indie/alternative rock.
The band don't appear on the front cover.-This could be because they are a well established band or potentially an understanding that music should be about music not looks. It can be common for rock bands to mock the pop industry; x factor stars etc. such is the case with Oasis' own Noel Gallagher.

THE BACK COVER:
Similarly to the front photo the back depicts a streetview with a silhouette walking down.
The tracklist is towards the top of the cover making the photo more prominent.
The bar code is placed in the top left corner instead of the typical right bottom one, this break of conventions mirrors the breaking of conventions in the alternative genre.

INSIDE:
On the inside of the back cover the front cover is repeated as an underlay for the CD, this is a convention of digipaks.

Within the lyrics booklet inside are a selection of photos, yet again emphasising an indie look with toned down shades of yellow, pink and dark blue; this fade paralleling the front cover.
Most of the lyrics visible are on a directly contrasting background: white on black for clear visibility.

THE CD:
The CD itself consists of a photo of the back of the head of a band member, conventions are broken through the fact that it's the back of his head not his face. Yet again, the yellow mustardy background is of an indie edge linking the outside panels and the lyric booklet together with it.
The band logo is repeated above the album title: ('What's the story morning glory') and at the bottom is a tracklist followed by credits to recording studios. Copyright details are written in a small white font around the edge of the CD.
